<image:title>About - Beth Filla, MSW LCSW (New Jersey & Pennsylvania), LISW (Ohio) Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master-Teacher, Certified Breathwork Facilitator</image:title>
<image:caption>I got my MSW at the University of Pennsylvania and I honed my counseling skills in the three-year, post-graduate program at the Gestalt Training Institute of Philadelphia. I bow to my yoga teachers, Jivamukti Yoga co-founders Sharon Gannon and David Life, and I learned the therapeutic power of being fully present during the 10 years I spent running a yoga and wellness studio in my hometown. I honor the BodyWise Foundation, EMDR Consulting, David Elliott, and my Reiki teachers for teaching me concrete, body-based ways to help people heal their trauma and be more present in their lives. Other than that, I’m a pretty good cook. I can dance to any song. I love to sing. I’m spiritually curious and always seeking. I’ve been married to the same wonderful person more than half my life. I’m a lousy gardener, and I love to travel. I hope to see you soon.</image:caption>

<image:title>Counseling - Counseling “Without awareness, there is no choice.” - John F. Barnes</image:title>
<image:caption>I work with people in person in my office in Audubon, NJ, which is about 20 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. If you are anywhere in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Ohio, we can meet through a secure telehealth portal. I’m here to help you notice what you’re feeling, to name sensations and emotions and to be with you as we see what emerges: patterns, memories, long-held beliefs that have maybe never been yours. These things contain your past, and will influence your future; but we’ll access them together in the present. We’ll find ways for you to have more flexibility and choice in how you respond to them. We’ll get curious together. We might move around a little (but we don’t have to). We can use EMDR, breathwork, Brainspotting, or Reiki-assisted psychotherapy to get to the root of deeply distressing patterns. We’ll probably breathe, or at least notice if we stop breathing. This is the brave work of moving fully into your life. It’s big stuff, and I’m so honored to do it with you. I work with people 18 years and older and I’m LGBTQ+ affirming, for sure.</image:caption>

<image:title>Supervision - Supervision “Less Private Practice: Supervision in Action” group forming now.</image:title>
<image:caption>Holding space for clients’ healing and growth is a big job. None of us should do this alone. I offer individual and group supervision for New Jersey-based LSWs and LACs working toward independent licensure and somatically-oriented Gestalt consultation and group supervision for fully licensed therapists. This work is profound in its ability to change us. We all deserve just the right amount of support in that process.</image:caption>

<image:title>Breathwork - Breathwork</image:title>
<image:caption>Sometimes, healing happens without words. Maybe you’ve been in talk therapy before. Maybe you’re doing great work in talk therapy right now. But something still feels stuck. There’s a growing body of research that indicates that certain styles of prolonged, rhythmic breathing can help us access different states of consciousness, greater self awareness, and increased heart rate variability. This last piece is an indicator of the resilience of our nervous systems and how efficiently we can recover from stressful or triggering situations. I have been certified by notable breathwork facilitator David Elliott to offer individual, group, and couples breathwork sessions. These can take place in-person in my office or online. I work with people 18 years and older and I’m LGBTQ+ affirming, for sure.</image:caption>

<image:title>Somatic Coaching - Somatic Coaching</image:title>
<image:caption>Every experience you have ever had happened in your body. Maybe you’ve been in talk therapy before. Maybe you’re doing great work in talk therapy right now. But your heart still pounds and races. Or your body holds a heavy tightness. Or you notice that sleep and digestion are disrupted when things get stressful. Anxiety, grief, and the effects of trauma are physical experiences. I’m passionate about teaching people simple body- and breath-based practices that can help them regulate their nervous systems, learn to notice and tolerate physical sensation, and stay more present in the here and now. Somatic Coaching sessions can take place in-person in my office or online. They are grounded in mindfulness, polyvagal theory, and trauma-informed somatic practices. I offer these evidence-based interventions for my own therapy clients, as adjunctive practices for people referred by other therapists, and as stand-alone offerings for people interested in managing their own healing. I work with people 18 years and older and I’m LGBTQ+ affirming, for sure.</image:caption>
